Free Crochet Rainbow Pattern | Kawaii Crochet

Materials

  • 3.25 crochet hook
  • PaintBox Cotton Aran yarn in colors Tea Rose, Washed Teal, Lime Green, Dafodil Yellow, Mandarin Orange, Pillar Red, and Paper White (45g)
  • Yarn Needle
  • 9mm Safety Eyes
  • Fiberfill Stuffing
  • Scrap of Black Yarn

Finished size

4 inches tall by 6 ½ inches wide

Gauge

5 sc sts and 6 rows = 1 inch

RAINBOW

3.25 mm hook and Purple Aran weight yarn

When making a slip knot leave a 12 inch yarn tail

Rnd 1: ch 25, sl st in 1st st to form a circle, (sc1, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [36]

Rnd 2: sc in each st around [36]

Rnd 3: change to blue yarn, (sc 2, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [48]

Rnd 4: sc in each st around [48]

Rnd 5: change to green yarn, (sc 3, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [60]

Rnd 6: sc in each st around [60]

Rnd 7: change to yellow yarn, (sc 4, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [72]

Rnd 8: sc in each st around [72]

Rnd 9: change to orange yarn, (sc 5, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [84]

Rnd 10: sc in each st around [84]

Rnd 11: change to red yarn, (sc 6, 2 sc in next st) repeat 12 times [96]

Rnd 12: sc in each st around [96]

Do not cut yarn. Place 9 mm safety eyes between rnds 7 and 8 with 6 sts in between. Fold rainbow in half. With the purple yarn tail, sew both sides of rnd 1 together. Stuff rainbow with fiberfill. With the same red yarn used to make rnd 12, sl st around working in both loops of both sides to join them together. Fasten offand weave in ends.

CLOUD (MAKE 2)

3.25 mm hook and White Aran weight yarn

Row 1: ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 5, 3 sc in last st, working on the other side of the foundation ch, sc 5, 2 sc in last st [16]

Row 2: sc 1, 5 dc, skip next st, sc 1, skip next st, (5 dc, sc 1) repeat 2 times, 5 dc, skip next st, sc 1, skip next st, 5 dc, sc 1, 5 dc, join with sl st in 1st sc [36] Invisible fasten offand weave in ends.

Make a total of two and attach to either side of the bottom of the rainbow. Add stitches for the mouth using black yarn.
