We have made a commitment to be a responsible company in our approach to sustainability and our consideration of the environment.
In 2020 we appointed our first sustainability 'guardian', a member of the team who is responsible to learn, education and inform the business as to sustainable practices.
In March 2024 we published our first annual sustainability review and action plan. This document can be viewed here and explains our goals, progress and some of our key targets and ambitions.
On the back of sustainability action plan, we were delighted to announce the news that we have moved our North American freight transportation to rail from June 2024. We also publish books that encourage consumers to think about the environmental impact of their hobby.
We base our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) on the following statement of principle:
We know our business is stronger, more innovative and more successful when it has a range of opinions and perspectives, and that comes from diversity. Our staff, and wider network of authors, freelancers and contributors, should feel they belong and are empowered to work with and for us.
To further our understanding and approach in this area, we have appointed an EDI Guardian, to champion this topic across the business.
In 2024 we created our charity board, where volunteer members from the team meet and discuss what causes and charities we should support. They are given a monthly budget to allocate and identify projects and charities that are consistent with the David and Charles values.
